BMW Motorrad will supply Italian motorcycle manufacturer Bimota with its S 1000 RR sports bike engine for a new four-cylinder model. An initial concept of this new motorcycle will be on show at the EICMA in Milan from November 15-18.
The S 1000 RR engine is right up its Bimota’s alley: it weighs just 59.8kg and has an output of 193hp.
Bimota boasts a long tradition of four-cylinder super sport bikes, dating back to the establishment of the brand in the early 1970s.
BMW Motorrad and Bimota engaged in a collaborative partnership once before. In 1995, Bimota released the BB1 Supermono, powered by the F 65 engine. Nearly 400 bikes were built in 1995-1996.
