Black on black for 2020 Ducati Monster 1200 S

Alternating black panels designed to highlight the naked machine’s stylish lines

Monsters are always more effective in the dark, which may explain why Ducati has painted its 2020 model year Monster S with alternating gloss black and matt black panels.

Selling alongside the traditional red paintwork, the “black on black” livery is intended to convey two of the Monster’s hallmarks: sports performance highlighted by a flash of red on the rims and style, as brought out by the black.

The Monster 1200 is good for 147hp at 9250rpm, with the power contained by a ride by wire throttle linked to inertial sensors to regulate the ABS cornering, traction and wheelie control functions.

S versions add a 48mm Ohlins fork and rear Ohlins monoshock, Brembo front discs with monobloc calipers, a quickshifter and carbon fibre front mudguard.
