Bimm 650 GS lands

20 extra horses for entry-level adventure bike

BMW's new-generation twin-cylinder F 650 GS has landed, claiming a whopping 20 more horses (up to 71) than its single-cylinder predecessor.

That's because, somewhat confusingly, it's actually an 800 twin and a separate model to the similarly-powered F 800 GS to be launched later this year.

"BMW GS series are a fundamental part of BMW Motorrad in Australia and the single cylinder F 650 GS models were firm favourites in our model range," says Miles Davis, Marketing Manager for BMW Motorrad Australia and New Zealand.

"The F 650 GS will also be the ideal jumping in point to the BMW brand for a wide variety of riders, from the young and adventurous to the more seasoned and experienced," he says.

The twin has generated a lot of interest internationally, given potentially offers GS flexibility in a much more compact package than the 1200.

As is typical of BMW launches, the machine is offered with a massive range of accessories.

Pricing is $13,650 plus ORC. See below for the full specs.
