Australia's 2018 Idemitsu Asian Talent Cup champ Billy van Eerde has been granted a seat in this year's FIM CEV Repsol Moto3 Junior World Championship.
The Aussie rider was vocal about his hopes to contest the Spanish-based championship towards the end of last year and this has since come to fruition, with the 16-year-old also confirmed to campaign his second season of the Red Bull Rookies Cup.

In recent years, the competitive championship has been the road to the Grand Prix paddock for some top-level world championship riders, with the likes of Joan Mir, Fabio Quartararo, Dennis Foggia, Nicola Bulega and Lorenzo Dalla Porta all enjoying either title or numerous race wins since the series' 2013 launch.
Van Eerde will line up in the three-rider Junior Talent Team squad made up of Asia Talent Cup title rival Haruki Noguchi and his Japanese compatriot Yuki Kunil. British rider Max Cook will also ride for the squad under the British Talent Team banner, as will Indonesia's Mario Aji, albeit it in Astra Honda Racing Team colours.
The eight-round 2019 series will kick off on April 7, five days after the Queenslander's 17th birthday and at the Estoril Circuit in Portugal, and will culminate as a support category to the 2019 MotoGP World Championship finale at Valencia's Ricardo Tormo Circuit on November 10.
