Honda's award-winning CBR1000RR doesn't want for much, as it's already proved itself as a brilliant and compact sportsbike, with a high-tempo engine to boot.
Fundamentally unchanged since 2008, this year saw the adoption of optional ABS (e-CABS) on the Fireblade, and in 2010 Honda has focused attention on the engine, announcing the next instalment of the litre-class rocket will have an increased diameter flywheel for more inertia and smoother performance.
The machine will also get a new aluminium muffler cover, mainly in deference to looks.
There are also two new colours: pearl orange/light metallic silver and red/black. The e-CABS (ABS) model will be available in black only.
Meanwhile, the Fireblade's smaller sibling - the CBR600RR - is also updated with a range of new colours, as is the potent CB1000R nakedbike.
Elsewhere, the venerable VT750CS Shadow now comes with the option of Honda's combined ABS for 2010, and the company is also introducing the VT750 Black Spirit, which harks back to the original custom cruiser machine - the bobber.
The bobber, which has no front fenders and a cropped or 'bobbed' rear fender, was massively popular in the 1950s and helped kickstart the custom bike craze.
No word yet on whether the Black Spirit will make its way to Australia.
Honda Australia is yet to announce pricing or availability on the 2010 models.
