Featuring a 937cc Testastretta engine, the new Monster features increased peak output figures of 111hp at 9250rpm and 95Nm at 6500rpm. The beefed-up engine is complemented by first rate electronics such as cornering ABS, traction control and wheelie control. There is also a new gearbox and quick shifter fitted as standard.
Also new is the Panigale-inspired lightweight monocoque frame, which strips 4.5kg in weight from the older model, to achieve a total dry weight of just 166kg.
The new Monster retains the familiar round-shaped headlight, but integrates LED lighting. It is available in Ducati Red (black wheels), Aviator Grey (red wheels) and Dark Stealth (black wheels).
There will also be a limited ‘Plus’ version, which adds an aerodynamic windscreen and passenger seat cover to the standard fittings.
The original Monster was introduced in 1993, and has proved to be a revelation for the Borgo Panigale crew. It is the firm’s bestselling model with over 350,000 units produced since its debut.
Potential buyers can test ride the Monster now. Contact your local Ducati dealership or head to ducati.com.au for more information.
