The Goodwood Revival kicks off on September 17 in the UK, and is described as "…a magical step back in time, a unique chance to revel in the glamour and allure of motor racing."
There will be plenty of historic motorcycle racing on display, where the likes of ten-time F1 Grand Prix winner Gerhard Berger will be riding a motorcycle in the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy, one of the highlights of the three day event.
As a regular competitor at the Goodwood Revival, Australian rider Wayne Gardner will be in attendance, the 1987 500cc world champion to be joined by the likes of former MotoGP rider Jeremy McWilliams and TT-winners Charlie Williams, Stuart Graham and Ian Simpson.
Other big name guests attending the ritzy event include Sir Stirling Moss, Sir Jackie Stewart, Jochen Mass, Brian Redman, and even Australian driver Jim Richards. Russian Formula One driver Vitaly Petrov, racing for Renault, is another big name driver, and will be racing an ex-KGB GAZ Volga M21 from 1958.
As the only person to have claimed world championships on both two and four wheels, the 2010 Goodwood Revival will pay tribute to John Surtees.
And if the classic motorcycles and cars, the motorsport celebrities and classic racing events don't tickle your fancy, there's also several period fashion shows, where onlookers can marvel at classic attire of a bygone era.
Running between September 17 and 19, the 2010 Goodwood Revival takes place at the Goodwood motor circuit in the UK. Check out Goodwood.co.uk for more details.
