Italian company Beta has unveiled its 2017 off-road range, which includes some genetic manipulation to merge its previous RR (purely off-road) and RS (dual sort) ranges into a new RR-S line.
The company says the unification will make a play on the "street-legal off-road" segment, with the four-stroke RR-S line-up available in four different capacities: 350cc, 390cc, 430cc and 500cc.
Engine updates on the range include new camshafts with revised lift profiles, different valve springs to enhance bottom end performance and reduce engine braking, and the adoption of a dual map ignition with two settings that can be changed on the fly.
On the chassis side of the dial, there's a 5mm longer Sachs fork, a new high/low speed adjustment on the Sachs shock, newly designed triple clamps for more rigidity, lighter Excel wheels, more sophisticated instrumentation, new graphics, and new fuel cap. The bikes also come with a Trial Tech Voyager GPS meter.
Along with the new RR-S line is an all-new model – the 125 RR-S, which has a liquid-cooled four-stroke engine.
Meanwhile, the non-street legal RR 250 and 300 two-strokes return and retain the automatic oil-injection system which was introduced last year, and they also feature dual map ignitions.
We're still awaiting word on which models will make it to Australia for 2017. For more information on Beta in Australia, click here.
