Australian electric scooter company Benzina Zero has launched several new models at a special event in Brisbane.
The start-up company, which is based in Kelvin Grove and manufactures in China, blends European-inspired design elements with modern electric technology.
Benzina Zero – which is Italian for zero fuel – revealed three new models to sit alongside the existing City, Sport, and Duo models. The new models include the Vasto, a European-style moped, as well as new Duo variants, the Duo Max and the high-performance Duo X.
The existing model range is led by the Duo, a versatile scooter that is capable of 65km/h and a range of up to 105km. It is designed with versatility in mind and is compatible with 20 different attachments that can carry a multitude of items including surfboards, beach umbrellas, music equipment and groceries. There is also a Duo+ variant that adds a combined braking system (CBS) and a more powerful motor.
For those looking for a little more punch, the Sport model can go up 90kms on a single charge, and will reach speeds of up to 75km/h. The entry-level City model can go 80kms on a single charge and reach speeds of 45km/h.
All three models are powered by Bosch electric motors and removable batteries that can be charged in regular wall sockets. Prices for the scooters start at $4250 for the City model, and reach $7250 for the Sport model.
Benzina Zero already has stock of the Duo, City, and Sport models in warehouses and dealerships around the country, while the new models will start production in 2023.
The Queensland company is also looking globally with 20 countries already set to sell the robust and road-legal scooters.
