Benelli is moving up after "record" year
The historic brand is growing rapidly under its Chinese ownership, with a number of new models heading our way in 2022Benelli has experienced what it describes as a “record” year in 2021, with a claimed 57% increase in Italy-based sales compared to the previous year.
Additionally, the Italian-born, Chinese-owned firm has revealed the TRK 502 adventure bike is its best-selling model, with an impressive 10,000 units sold since its introduction. The bike was the best-selling motorcycle in Italy in 2020, and over 6000 units have been sold in a 12 month period.

Despite the brand’s Chinese ownership, it maintains strong links to its Italian heritage and now occupies 10.6 per cent of the Italian market. The company sold 12,706 units in Italy in 2021.
The brand has also grown in Australia, with a claimed 85 per cent growth in 2021 despite stock shortages during the pandemic.
According to the local Benelli distributor, Urban Moto Imports, the 500cc platform has been popular with Australian and New Zealand customers.
With the introduction of the TRK 800 and Leoncino 800 models in 2022, the brand is expected to grow even further.
