The Benelli BN600i, first unveiled at the 2013 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan has arrived in Australia to commence homologation and compliance testing.
Unlike most Benellis which are powered by three-cylinder engines, the new BN600i makes use of a four-cylinder 600cc engine outputting 82hp (60kW) at 11,500rpm and 51Nm at 10,500rpm. Yamaha’s XJ6N is a competitor, and it pumps out 76hp and 59Nm.
The liquid-cooled engine in the BN600i has 38mm throttle bodies, and is hooked up to a six-speed manual gearbox via a wet clutch. The bike's innards are held together by an upper steel trellis and lower aluminium plate frame
Suspension for the bike comprises 50mm upside-down forks and basic rear shock mounted to the right of the frame, while 320mm radial front brakes are clamped by four-pot calipers.
Price is likely to be under $10K ride away. For more information on Benelli, contact Urban Moto Imports on 1300 869 245.
