There is officially a new player in the Australian motorcycle market, with rising Chinese brand Benda announcing that four of its models have been approved for LAMS.
The Napoleanbob 250 and 500, Chinchilla 500, and Dark Flag 500 Commander have all secured learner approval, opening the door to new riders.
Based in Hangzhou, China, Benda was founded in 2016 and has recently entered the Australian market through local distributor Juma Group.
Other models in Benda’s global lineup include the LFC700 and the Redstone 550 quad bike, with all machines powered by petrol internal-combustion engines.

Benda’s Australian range is made up entirely of cruiser-style motorcycles. The aptly named Napoleanbob models are bobber-inspired, while the Chinchilla and Dark Flag Commander platforms adopt a more traditional cruiser layout.
At the entry point, the Napoleanbob 250 is powered by a 249cc V-twin and uses a distinctive multi-link front-suspension design, paired with dual rear shocks.
The Napoleanbob 500 and Chinchilla 500 share a 475.6cc V-twin, while the flagship Dark Flag 500 Commander steps up to a 496.4cc V4 with an electronically adjustable dual-chamber rear air-suspension system.
All four LAMS-approved models come standard with TFT instrumentation, ABS, and traction control.
