Bayliss' mini comeback to continue

The Aussie will continue to deputise for injured Ducati factory rider Davide Giugliano, this time on a new track in Thailand

Troy Bayliss will continue to fill in for the injured Ducati factory rider Davide Giugliano when round two of the 2015 Superbike World Championship is held at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand from March 20-22.

Bayliss, who will turn 46 on March 30, competed alongside Chaz Davies in the opening round at Phillip Island, and came away with 13-16 finishes on the back of a truncated preparation.

“I’m really excited to be able to ride the Panigale R again and I thank the Aruba.it Racing - Ducati Superbike Team for the opportunity," said Bayliss. "It will be great to work with the team again. Compared to the Phillip Island round, organised pretty much at the last minute, this time I’ve had the chance to train and prepare myself properly. I’m really motivated and feeling ready; I can’t wait to get back on track!”

Giugliano will continue to rest for another few weeks before recommencing with a measured training program. He aims to be back on his Panigale R in time for five at Imola from May 8-10.

No decision has yet been taken by the Italian squad with regard to the substitution of Giugliano for the rounds at Aragón (April 10-12) and Assen (April 17-19).
