Queenslander Troy Batchelor will join compatriots Jason Doyle and Chris Holder in the 2015 FIM Speedway Grand Prix (SGP) series, which will conclude in Australia on Saturday, October 24.
Batchelor, alongside Danish duo Niels-Kristian Iversen and Michael Jepsen Jensen and Swedish champion Tomas H Jonasson have all been handed permanent wildcards for next year’s world championship, with Batchelor rewarded for finishing a creditable ninth in his world championship debut season, despite only being called up a month before the opening round in Auckland.
The wildcard quartet joins this year’s world championship top eight: new champion Greg Hancock, Krzysztof Kasprzak, Nicki Pedersen, Tai Woffinden, Matej Zagar, Andreas Jonsson, Holder and Jaroslaw Hampel.
GP Challenge qualifiers Doyle, Chris Harris and Maciej Janowski complete the full-time SGP field. The full rider line-up, complete with rider numbers, will be announced on Friday, October 17.
Tickets are now on sale for the Australian round at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, which can be purchased by clicking here.
