Jett Lawrence has continued his championship streak, claiming the AMA Pro Motocross 250 National Championship for the second year in a row.
The Australian gun, who rides for the Honda HRC factory team, also won the 2022 AMA Supercross 250 East title earlier this year.
Lawrence ended the 2022 outdoor season with 11 moto wins and nine overall victories, resulting in a 45-point advantage over Jo Shimoda (Kawasaki), who finished second in the title race.

Meanwhile, Lawrence’s older brother and teammate Hunter ended the season in third place, with three moto wins and nine overall podiums.
Hailing from Landsborough, Queensland, the Lawrence brothers have quickly left a mark on the USA motocross scene, with lucrative deals with Honda, Red Bull, and Alpinestars helping them along.
The brothers will now turn their attention to the 2022 Motocross of Nations (MXON), where they will team up with countryman and fellow HRC pilot, Mitch Evans.
For the younger Lawrence, it will also mark his competitive debut on a 450cc machine, having announced he’ll be moving up to the premier 450 class for the 2023 Pro Motocross season. He will, however, remain on the Honda CRF250R for the 2023 AMA Supercross season early next year.
While Lawrence was handed the Gary Jones Cup for the 250 championship, Eli Tomac (Yamaha) secured his fourth AMA Pro Motocross 450 National Championship, narrowly defeating Honda’s Chase Sexton by seven points.
Jason Anderson (Kawasaki) finished third in the title race, with Ken Roczen (Honda) and Christian Craig (Yamaha) rounding out the top five. In a feel-good story, former multi-time champ Ryan Dungey completed a remarkable comeback season, finishing seventh.
