Australian motocross will be back on national television in 2021, with ProMX organisers signing a landmark broadcasting deal.
The 2021 ProMX Championship, which is set to kick off at Wonthaggi on April 11, will be broadcast live on SBS and Fox Sports Australia. International fans can also follow the action on Fox Sports Asia, as well as through a live stream on the ProMX website.
It will be the first time in over a decade that the national motocross championship has benefited from live television coverage.

Fans will be treated to 2.5 hours of live coverage for each of the 8 rounds, while additional coverage will be available through the ProMX website's live stream.
Leading the commentary team will be host, Riana Crehan, with former champions Danny Ham and Lee Hogan calling the action.
Motorcycling Australia CEO Peter Doyle was estatic with the news, and said that fans would be the big winners from the ProMX television deal.
“In our inaugural year we have secured the largest television package in Australian motocross history,” Doyle said. “Fans here in Australia and around the globe will be able to access the broadcasts no matter where they are."
“We said on taking over the management and promotion of the ProMX Championship that we wanted to deliver a significant television package, and to do so we needed the support of the industry. I'm very pleased the industry saw our vision and backed MA.”
Motorcycling Australia recently took control of the championship from long-time promoter, Kevin Williams. Formerly known as the MX Nationals, the series was quickly re-branded as ProMX, reflecting a new era for the sport in Australia. Penrite has been announced as the naming rights sponsor, while Thor MX, Pirelli and Maxxis have also joined as sponsors.
The 2021 championship will be contested across 8 rounds starting on April 11, and wrapping up on August 15. Queensland will host three rounds (including a double-header in Coolum), while Victoria will host two rounds. New South Wales, South Australia and the ACT will each host one round.
Tracks such as Maitland (NSW), Wonthaggi (VIC) and Coolum (QLD) have featured in recent MX Nationals seasons, but the ProMX series will introduce a number of new venues such as Wodonga (VIC), Gillman (SA), Canberra (ACT), and Queensland Moto Park (QLD).
