While the Australian International Motor Show – which opened today at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre and will continue through to October 28 – is primarily focused on four-wheeled offerings, hidden among the sedans, hatches, station wagons and sports cars will be a two-wheeled offering that perhaps represents the performance buy of the entire show – a Suzuki Hayabusa.
On display at the Suzuki stand alongside the marque’s many car models and also Josh Waters’ ASBK title-winning GSX-R1000, the Hayabusa offers supercar performance for the motoring equivalent of loose change. Capable of 300km/h, the Hayabusa is priced at $18,990 – a sum that would barely amount to a deposit on a car capable of the same speed.
Still, if money’s no object – or if you just like to dream, or indeed you’re on the hunt for somewhat more affordable four-wheeled transport – the Australian International Motor Show boasts all the latest cars from the full spectrum of manufacturers, spanning everything from budget family transport to luxury liners to performance thoroughbreds.
