Australian Endurance Championship returns for the first time in 22 years

To be held at Phillip Island in December

You know we're turning back the clock when there is mention of the Kawasaki GPX750 sports bike winning an Australian road racing title.

But that was the case in 1988 when "Mr Superbike" Rob Phillis won the Australian Endurance Championship on the aforementioned machine, which unbelievably was the last time the title was officially held in Australia.

But now it's set to return 22 years later, with Motorcycling Australia giving the nod for Phillip Island to host this year's one-round championship decider from December 3-6.

Forty teams will be able to enter the event and the classes will be:

  • Superstock 1000
  • Superstock 600
  • Production 1000
  • Production 600

For more information on the event, please contact James Spence, tel 0412 348 916 or email james@the6hour.com.au.
