Australian debut for four new Ducati models

Melbourne Ducatisti recently got their first look at four hot new Ducati models poised to reach local showrooms this year

The first Ducati 2024 Premiere event was held at function space Half Acre in South Melbourne on Tuesday evening (March 19), where Ducati executives, dealers, and aficionados gathered to witness the unveiling of four new models heading our way in the near future: the Ducati DesertX Rally, Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono, Ducati Multistrada V4 RS, and Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour.

The gala evening saw Ducati adventure product specialist Nick Selleck introduce the four new machines and take attendees through their specs and attributes, while Ducati Australia and New Zealand Managing Director, Sergi Canovas, welcomed guests and marked what has been a remarkable past year for the company.

“So 2023 has been a magical year for us. We have delivered worldwide over 58,000 bikes, and on top of that it’s been a special year for us because we have launched an incredible amount of limited-edition and special-edition bikes,” he said.

Ducati Australia and New Zealand Managing Director, Sergi Canovas, recapped what has been a superb year for Ducati both in this country and worldwide

“Some of them were to celebrate some milestones in our history like for example the Panigale V4 SP2 30 Anniversario 916 and the Monster Anniversario, and also to celebrate all the achievements in MotoGP, World Superbike and World Supersport. We also did more limited editions more focused on luxury, collaborations such as our Streetfighter Lamborghini or our Diavel Bentley. But at Ducati we have been working hard make sure we can provide any kind of bike to any Ducatista who wants to ride in any kind of style.”

Mr Canovas touched on the broad line-up of model families offered by Ducati these days, examples of which lined the function room, as well as its efforts to provide activities and events to help Ducati riders enjoy their chosen ride to the full – events like track days, adventure riding academies, and the new Ducati Expeditions event, which will see riders head to New Zealand in December.

Lots on interest in Ducati's most hardcore adventure bike yet, the Ducati DesertX Rally

“I want to thank you, all the Ducatisti who have been supporting the brand, supporting us to be bigger,” said Mr Canovas. “I think that – I don’t think, I know – our ambition is to be the most desirable motorcycle company in the world. I think that we are there, but we also want to make sure that we enrich people’s lives through amazing experiences that happens through the bikes we produce.”

Of the four new models to be unveiled, the Ducati Multistrada V4 S Grand Tour, complete with hard luggage and dripping with accessories and tech, will go on sale first, and is expected to hit Australian showrooms this month.

The model will be joined by the hardcore Ducati DesertX Rally adventure bike and power-packed Multistrada V4 RS in May, with the manic Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono, with new Superquadro Mono single-cylinder engine, following in June.
