Todd Waters, Dean Ferris and Jay Wilson will represent Australia in the 2015 Motocross of Nations (MXoN) in Ernèe, France on September 27.
After missing last year's MXoN through injury, Husqvarna's Todd Waters returns to the green and gold in the MX1 class. Waters, who previously represented his country in the 2012 and 2013 MXoN campaigns, currently sits 11th in the MXGP class of the 2015 Motocross World Championship.
Sitting right behind Waters (pictured) in the MXGP class in 12th spot is Ferris, who will also ride a Husqvarna but in the MX3 class. In 2013, Ferris was second in the MX2 class at the MXoN.
Rounding out the Australian team will be Yamaha rider Jay Wilson, who will compete in the MX2 class—the championship he's currently leading in the Australian MX Nationals.
"Both Todd and Dean are having really good second parts of the year in Europe, and obviously Jay has been going from strength-to-strength here, so we're looking forward to a good race meet from them," said team manager Gary Benn. "With their European racing experience, it's just another race for Todd and Dean in their own backyard so to speak. It's just like another race for them, even though it is the biggest one on the motocross calendar, but I would expect them to go really well.
"Jay's deserves it (his selection); he's leading the championship here and he is improving each race as well."
Chad Reed, Matt Moss and Luke Clout competed for Australia in 2014, but it wasn't a kind day and they finished well back in 14th position.
France is the defending champion after finishing ahead of Belgium and America last year.
