Australasian Safari dates locked in

September 17-25 in WA

The 2010 Australasian Safari will be held in Western Australian from September 17-25.

The event will commence with an official ceremony in Perth on the 17th, followed by a prologue the following day. Stage one will then leave the state capital on Sunday, September 19.

"There has already been a lot if interest from overseas in this year's safari," said event director Justin Hunt, " so we are expecting riders and drivers from the likes of China, Japan, South Africa and the Czech Republic to take their place in the field."

Octagon, the safari organiser, recently signed a three-year deal with the Western Australian government to keep the event in the state from 2010-2012, with options for a further six years.

Expressions of interest will open shortly for the 3700km outback marathon, so keep an eye on official (and soon to be revamped) website for updates.

Last year's motorcycle division of the safari was won by Jacob Smith from his sibling Todd, with Ben Grabham in third.
