Australian Motorcycle News' bid to uncover Australia's Ultimate Sportsbike (AUStest) will be held at Sydney's Eastern Creek Raceway this Sunday, May 10, and the public is invited to attend and see all the bikes and big names in action.
Set-up riders include Shannon Johnson, Pat Medcalfe, Jamie Stauffer, Shawn Giles, Craig McMartin and Kevin Curtain. There are former and current Australian champions, the country's top privateer racers, former 500cc grand prix racers and international riders all fit, pumped and prepped to ride, with only one superbike and supersport machine coming out on top.
A control tyre will ensure a level playing field and, with Bridgestone's new BT-003 RS designed specifically for fast road riding and track days, they're are the perfect rubber for the AUStest shootout.
Warm-up will begin at 9.00am, with the battle officially kicking off at 10.00am.
Turn up and get involved, meet the team and watch as AMCN stalks and hunts down Australia's Ultimate Sportsbike.
Last year's overall winner in the inaugural AUStest was the Honda Fireblade, but it will be facing fresh oposition in 2009 from the likes of Yamaha's crossplane crankshaft YZF-R1 and the KTM RC8R.
