AUSTAR launches SPEED channel
Regional fans of the Superbike World Championship rejoice, with AUSTAR now picking up the SPEED TV feed – at no extra cost to subscribersRegional Australians will now be able to watch some of the biggest events in world motorsports, including the world Superbike title, on dedicated motorsport channels SPEED and SPEED HD through their AUSTAR subscription.
Until now, SPEED hasn’t been available on AUSTAR, which has particularly infuriated world Superbike supporters.
“We are thrilled to be able to offer our very dedicated motorsports fans the channel they’ve been waiting for,” said AUSTAR’s Group Director, Corporate Development, Deanne Weir.
“SPEED expands dramatically on the previous motorsports segments that were shown on the FOX SPORTS channels by showcasing them on a channel devoted entirely to the genre.
“While our negotiations with Premier Media Group (PMG) for the channel took longer than we had hoped, neither PMG nor AUSTAR ever gave up on our joint goal of providing regional Australians with access to this channel.”
Upcoming SPEED events include this Sunday’s round two of the Superbike World Championship
, and British Elite Speedway League next Tuesday.
