Aussie pair Jason Doyle and Max Fricke produced breakout season performances in round three of the 2019 Speedway Grand Prix (SGP) series at the Marketa Stadium in Prague on June 15.
Doyle, the 2017 world champion, made it all the way to the final where he finished fourth behind Janusz Kolodziej, Leon Madsen and Patryk Dudek, while Fricke was fifth overall.
After three of nine rounds Doyle is now ninth overall on 23pts, with Dudek and SGP rookie Madsen joint leaders on 40pts. Fricke is in 14th position on 16pts – 13 of those coming after his strong form in the Czech Republic.

However, the night belonged to an elated Kolodziej – competing in his first SGP season since 2011.
It was the 35-year-old’s maiden SGP victory. He said: “The starts were very important for me. I had good gates because I finished high in qualifying and took some of the best ones.
“I was focused at the starts. There were some nerves in the final heat, but my nerves were good. I dropped the clutch, went full gas and prayed to God.
“Now maybe after this win, I can believe more in myself and I will try to win more.”
Next up is the Swedish SGP in Hallstavik on July 6.
