Aussies dominate X-Games in LA
Cam Sinclair and Robbie Maddison blitzed the Moto X Best Trick event, with gold and silver medals respectivelyThough he hasn't had a great deal of luck in the Red Bull X-Fighters FMX competition, Australian rider Cam Sinclair scored his first ever X Games gold medal in Los Angeles.
Edging out compatriot Robbie Maddison (third image) in the 'Moto X Best Trick' event at X Games 16 in the United States, Sinclair nailed a double backflip in front of tens of thousands of raucous fans to clinch his first gold medal.
"I'm speechless," said a shell-shocked Sinclair. "I've been waiting for this moment my whole life and now that it is here, I just don't know what to say."
Twelve months ago, almost to the day, Cam Sinclair came close to losing his life when attempted the same double backflip during an event in Spain.
"The last 12 months haven't been easy that's for sure; thank you to everyone that has stood by me and helped me get here." Cam Sinclair said.
With an impressive performance sure to boost confidence and morale, Sinclair hinted that he had more in reserve. Is there a triple backflip in the wings?
"I so stoked to win today, but I still feel I can ride better; I have another trick in my back pocket, but I guess now I'll have to save it for next year!" exclaimed Sinclair.
