Two up-and-coming Aussie racers will be spreading their wings with Honda this year, as Josh Hook (pictured, middle) and Josh Pickering get set to tackle the 2012 Asia Dream Cup.
The new six-round, single-make series will see 21 riders lock horns aboard Honda's CBR250R. As such, the series serves as an excellent stepping stone to bigger things, giving the talented youngsters valuable international racing experience and allowing them to showcase their skills on the world stage.
The Asia Dream Cup kicks off in Malaysia on May 13, before heading to Indonesia (July 1), China (August 5), Japan (September 9), India (November 11, TBC) and finally Qatar (December 15).
It will be a frenetic year for Hook in particular, who is also committed to contesting the ASBK Supersport class for Team Honda Racing, aboard a CBR600RR. Hook has previously raced in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in 2009 and 2010, and is the reigning Australian 125cc GP champion.
Pickering brings significant off-road success to the road racing table, having won the Australian Junior Dirt Track Championship in 2009 (under 13) and 2010 (under 16), plus a number of state championship titles.
