Australia’s Women’s Trophy team has produced another flawless performance to retain its title at the 2015 International Six Day Enduro in Argentina.
The trio of Jessica Gardiner, Gemma Wilson and Tayla Jones won by nearly two hours over Canada, with America finishing third. The trio’s dominance was also replicated in the individual standings, with Gardiner winning from Wilson and Jones, while in the men three Aussies finished in the top five: Toby Price in second, Matthew Phillips in fourth and Josh Strang in fifth.
Frenchman Pierre-Alexandre Renet was the individual men’s champion, with American Kailub Russell finishing behind Price in third.
It was a difficult ISDE for Australia’s men’s teams, with the Senior Trophy outfit down to three riders for the last four days, including Victorian Daniel Milner who was such a star in the 2013 event. The team (which also included Jarrod Bewley and Josh Green) finished sixth, with France, America and Spain in the top three.
In the Junior Trophy, Australia (Scot Keegan, Tom McCormack, Daniel Sanders and Lachlan Sanford) led after two days before dropping to fourth at the halfway mark, but then rallied to finish third behind America and France.
Sanders was also seventh overall in the E3 class, won by Price. Phillips and Strang were third and fourth in the E2 class.
