Aussie Superbikes gets spirited

Woodstock Bourbon the naming rights sponsor

The Australian Superbike Championship (ASC) has a new naming rights sponsor for 2009 - Woodstock Bourbon.

The announcement is not a major surprise, as the factory Honda motocross race team operated under the same parent company as the ASC promoter, International Entertainment Group, is also sponsored by Woodstock Bourbon.

"The Australian Superbike Championship is the pinnacle of motorcycle racing in Australia and is an exciting partnership for Woodstock Bourbon", said Woodstock Bourbon's Brand Manager Natasha Buttler. "The international success of Australian riders over the past two decades continues to grow the sport's popularity in Australia.  We are proud to be the naming rights sponsor and look forward to seeing the legions of fans out at the races across the nation, enjoying all of the action."

Woodstock Bourbon is the first non motorcycle industry naming rights sponsor of the ASC since its inception in 1987.

The next major announcement for the 2009 Woodstock Bourbon Australian Superbike Championship, which begins at Phillip Island from February 27 until March 1, will be the details of the promised television package.
