The opening round of the 2011 Australian Solo Speedway Championship on January 12 has been relocated from Sydney Speedway to Kurri-Kurri.
No reason has been given for the decision.
As per the original calendar, Kurri-Kurri, near Newcastle (NSW), will also host round two on January 15.
Rounds three, four and five will be held in Gillman, SA (January 22), Broken Hill, NSW (January 26) and Mildura, Vic (January 29).
The following riders will compete in the championship:
Holder, who won last year’s British GP in his first year of world championship action, won last year’s Aussie title ahead of Troy Batchelor and Darcy Ward.
Batchelor won’t compete in 2011, but other riders capable of winning the championship include Rory Schlein and the seasoned David Watt.
And a reminder the Leigh Adams testimonial meeting will be held in the champion’s home town of Mildura on January 5, featuring Polish world No 2 Jarek Hampel.
