Australian sidecar driver Dwight Beare was killed following an accident during the opening sidecar race at the 2016 Isle of Man TT.
The 27-year-old, originally from Melbourne but recently a resident of Onchan in the Isle of Man, made his TT debut in 2014 achieving a 12th place finish alongside his father Noel, who was passenger.
The pair returned to the Isle of Man TT last year, achieving a 17th place in the first sidecar race.
Dwight’s passenger Benjamin Binns, from the Isle of Man, was airlifted to hospital where he was described as being stable with a fractured ankle.
Dwight and Noel were regulars on the Aussie sidecar scene until 2013 under the 'Beare Boys Racing' banner.
A day after Dwight passed away, 50-year-old Paul Shoesmith was killed following an accident during solo practice at the TT.
Shoesmith made his TT debut in 2005 and had a highest placed finish of 15th on the TT Mountain Course in both the Superbike and Senior Races in 2011.
In more news, Aussie Matt Mingay was involved in a serious accident on June 4 during a Stadium Super Trucks race at Belle Island in Michigan. The 40-year-old's facial injuries are serious but non-life threatening.
