Aussie GP gets its hipster on

2017 Australian MotoGP gains hipster flavour

The 2017 round of the Australian MotoGP from October 20-22 will debut an 'Urban Alley'.

Located within Gardner Village adjacent to the main straight, Urban Alley will bring three facets of hipster culture to the pinnacle of motorcycle racing: a static display of customised motorcycles, live street art as well as a pop-up barber shop.

The display, dubbed the Urban Garage, will feature both heavily customised motorcycles as well as historically significant example and punters are urged to log onto motogp.com.au and vote for their favourite machine.

The Urban Art section of the alley will see talented street artists creating live works as GP-goers wander by and the Urban Chop Chop will offer attendees the full range of traditional barber-shop services. Beard trims, haircuts and hot-towel straight razor shaves will all be on offer and at reasonable prices.

The 2017 Australian round of the Australian MotoGP kicks off on Friday 20 October and culminates with the three world championship races on Sunday 22 October. You can grab your tickets by logging onto the event’s website at www.motogp.com.au.
