Aussie gets Red Bull Rookies spot

Olly Simpson will join the road racing talent factory in 2012, after producing a standout season at the domestic level
Australian rider Olly Simpson has been invited to compete in the 2013 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.
The teenager was invited after a three-day selection event in at Monteblanco in Spain, and if he accepts the invitation will be joined by 11 other riders new to the series from countries such as America, Italy, South Africa, Germany, Spain, Finland, Japan, France and Turkey.
The complete provisional 2013 entry list will be published shortly, with the riders to compete on 250cc four-strokes for the first time, in concert with the main world championship class it feeds – Moto3.
Australia’s current Moto3 rider Arthur Sissis competed in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in 2010-2011, and was second in his final season.
Simpson was impressive in finishing fourth in the 2012 Australian 250 Production Championship, which concluded a Queensland Raceway on September 14.
