The AUS-X Open will return to Sydney on November 11-12 at the second largest indoor venue in Australia – Qudos Bank Arena. And Australia’s two-time world supercross champion Chad Reed has already confirmed his participation!

After just two years, the AUS-X Open is already the most recognised and prestigious event on the local supercross and freestyle motocross calendar. In 2016, over 26,000 spectators saw Reed dominate the supercross proceedings.

Reed, 35, is yet to sign a contract for 2018, and the champ has acknowledged that Sydney could well be his swansong from professional competition.
“My intention is to continue racing, but if it’s not meant to be I couldn’t think a better place to end my career than the AUS-X Open amongst my friends, family and fans,” Reed said. “The Qudos Bank Arena holds so many fond memories for me. Racing indoors in Sydney Olympic Park reminds me of where my career began before heading overseas full time.

“To have been involved with the AUS-X Open since its inception has been an honour. The energy from the fans, the atmosphere, everything about it is unlike anything I’ve experienced. It’s an event I take very seriously and put a lot of pressure on myself to win. Second place isn’t an option and 2017 will be no different.”
Reed has battled against some of the sport's biggest names at the AUS-X Open, including Ricky Carmichael, Ryan Villopoto, Cooper Webb and Justin Brayton. Of the four AUS-X Open finals contested so far, Reed has won three and narrowly missed out on the clean sweep when he finished second to Webb in 2015.
“We’re well under way with plans to not only secure an incredible line up of riders, but have a whole host of announcements that will shock and amaze fans. There’s nowhere you’d rather be than in Sydney, on November 11 and 12," said event co-founder and director Adam Bailey.
The 2017 AUS-X Open will also incorporate rounds four and five of the 2017 Australian Supercross Championship.
With each Saturday night selling out within days in both 2015 and 2016, and last year’s Sunday event almost reaching capacity, fans are urged to sign up to the AUS-X Open pre-sale registration to avoid disappointment.
