After four years in Sydney, Australasian’s pre-eminent supercross and freestyle motocross event, the AUS-X Open, is moving to Melbourne.
With backing from the Victorian government, the 2019 event will be held at Marvel Stadium (formerly Etihad Stadium) on Saturday, November 30 – Australia’s largest indoor stadium and the former host of the Speedway World Championship.
“Since its inception, the AUS-X Open has grown from strength-to-strength to a point where we’ve found ourselves in the fortunate situation of needing to expand to cater for the growing appetite of Supercross racing and more broader sports fans across the country,” AUS-X Open chairman Tony Cochrane said.

“Melbourne is renowned for hosting some of the world’s greatest sporting events and what better place than Marvel Stadium to deliver a world-class event to a world-class audience.”
The event will see Australia and New Zealand's top riders go head-to-head against the world's best, while a junior class will showcase competitors as young as six. There will also be live music and pyrotechnics as part of the no-stop entrainment.
The AUS-X Open will also double as the final round of the 2019 Australian Supercross Championship.
Pre-sale tickets will be available from May 15 via Ticketmaster.com.au – but first you must sign up at www.ausxopen.com.
