“Everybody involved has managed to make tremendous progress with the development of the AMB 001 despite the challenged we have been facing,” said Aston Martin Executive Vice President Marek Reichman. “This special motorcycle is, like our road cars, the result of beautiful design melding with modern technology to produce a bike that any collector will be proud of.”
The AMB 001 was unveiled at EICMA 2019, with luxury carmaker Aston Martin teaming up with historic motorcycle brand, Brough Superior. The futuristic-looking machine is not road-registerable, and is designed for track use.
While details of the machine a still scarce, the bike will boast a turbo-charged engine capable of producing 180hp. Also featured is a unique aluminium fin that runs along the full length of the carbon fibre fuel tank. Designers called on the knowledge of Mecano ID for its specialist aerospace-quality carbon fibre skills.
When this current round of testing is complete, the AMB 001 will go into production at the Brough Superior factory in Toulouse, France. The bike is currently priced at €108,000, which converts to roughly $175,986AUD.
