After debuting at last week’s EICMA motorcycle expo in Milan, Italy, Italian manufacturer Aprilia has released more information on its attitude-packed Aprilia SR GT, which is expected to land in Australian dealerships in August 2022.
Billed by Aprilia as an ‘urban adventure’ scooter and taking cues from the enduro segment, the Aprilia SR GT features a more active, engaged ride position than traditional scooters, along with healthy ground clearance and suspension travel, and tyres with an ‘all-terrain’ tread pattern.

A part of the Aprilia Urban Mobility Range, which also encompasses models not available in Australia like the eSR1 and eSR2 electric scooters and the SXR 50, the Aprilia SR GT is powered by the brand’s 125cc i-get single-cylinder engine with idle-stop function, and comes with LED lighting, LCD instrumentation and optional APRILIA MIA Bluetooth connectivity.
Aprilia says the compact engine produces 15hp (11kW) at 8750rpm and 12Nm at 6500rpm.
The Aprilia SR GT rides on a large 14-inch front wheel and 13-inch rear for confident handling and stability, a 33mm Showa fork with 122mm of travel, and twin Showa rear shocks with 102mm of travel.
The entire package weighs 144kg wet, so it’s light and agile for busting through city congestion, while its nine-litre tank affords a very healthy claimed fuel range of approximately 350km.
And of course it offers all the usual benefits of the scooter category, with a large 25-litre storage compartment located beneath the seat. A 33-litre aluminium topbox is available as a genuine accessory.
The standard Aprilia SR GT will come in three colour schemes – Aprilia Black, Street Grey, or Infinity Blue – while an Aprilia SR GT Sport variant will come in Street Gold, Iridium Grey, or Red Raceway.
Pricing will be announced closer to the Aprilia SR GT’s local release in August 2022.
