Aprilia shows off new learner RS 457 sportsbike

Aprilia has introduced a learner-friendly sportsbike to its range for 2024

Aprilia has added a new LAMS-approved sporstbike to its lineup, with the RS 457 set to arrive in Australia in August 2024.

Powered by a learner-friendly, but performance focused parallel-twin engine, the new Aprilia RS 457 is designed to push the upper limits of the power-to-weight ratio requirements for LAMS bikes.

While it will likely be in a higher price range, the RS 457 will act as a competitor for the recent CFMOTO 450SR, which checks in at $7990 ride away. That bike is also powered by a learner-friendly parallel-twin engine and features similar spec levels but has no ride modes or traction control.

The engine puts out a claimed 35kW of power and weighs in at 175kg wet. It also features supersport styling, a 2-in-1 exhaust and double fairing, adjustable suspension, ByBre braking components, dual-channel ABS, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

Also on offer is an electronics suite that features ride-by-wire throttle, adjustable traction control, three ride modes, and a colour 5-inch TFT display. A quickshifter is also available as an option.

The new Aprilia RS 457 joins the RS 660 and the RSV4 in the Italian firm’s sportsbike range. A RS 125 was also revealed recently however that model hasn’t been announced for Australia.

Other bikes in Aprilia’s locally distributed range include the Tuono 660 Factory, the Tuono V4, the Tuareg 660 adventure bike, and the SR GT scooter.

No pricing has been announced yet for the RS 457, but Aprilia’s local arm has said it anticipates an arrival in August 2024.
