Aprilia's new sportstourer: the Shiver GT 750

Ride by wire, ABS, three different engine maps

Aprilia has now made a foray into the sportstouring market, taking the logical step of adding a screen, half fairing and anti-lock braking to its thrill-seeking Shiver nakedbike.

The new bike is called the Shiver GT 750 ABS, one which Aprilia says "reconciles sports performance with versatility".

The bike, designed, engineered and built in Italy, features ride by wire technology, three different engine maps, two-channel ABS braking, an aluminium composite chassis, and the engine platform is Aprilia's grunty 749cc 90-degree fuel injected V-twin.

There are also radial brakes and upside-down 43mm forks, and colours are red or black.

The Aprilia Shiver GT 750 ABS will be available in from April 2010 for $14,990, $2000 more than the standard Shiver.

Meanwhile, in other Aprilia news, people who purchase a SportCity One 50cc or SportCity One 125cc scooter will receive a free rear rack and top box.

The offer is for a limited time only, so contact your local Aprilia dealer for more information.
