Aprilia Racer Days are coming to Australia, and the first one will be held at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit on Monday, April 8 to coincide with the arrival of the 2019 RSV4 1100 RF and Tuono V41100 RF models Down Under.
All Aprilia motorcycle owners are welcome, and skill levels from novice to racer will be catered for. More details as follows:
• When: Monday, April 8, 2019;
• Time: Gates open 7:00am;
• Cost $225 (spectators free);
• Track time: Six x 15-20-minute sessions;
• Apparel: Full leathers (if two-piece they must zip together), back protector, approved full-face helmet, gloves that cover the wrist and calf-high boots;
• All riders will be required to hold a current Motorcycling Australia licence, which can be purchased on the day for an additional $30;
• The canteen will be open for food and drink.
Purchase your ticket according to the pace group description below.
• Yellow (novice). This group has strict overtaking rules and the first two sessions will commence with two sighting laps ridden under yellow flags. Best suited to first-timers and those who are new to track days.
• Green (slow/medium). As above, but best suited to experienced road riders who are new to track days.
• Blue (medium/fast). This group has more relaxed overtaking rules and caters for riders with knowledge of racing lines, braking technique and advanced cornering skills. Best suited to regular track riders.
• Red (racer). Overtaking is allowed on corner entry, and riders require plenty of on-track experience. Best suited to racers or extremely fast track day riders with track-prepared machines running slick tyres, suspension upgrades, etc.
Please note, you can change your pace group on the day if need be.
No refunds are given for change of mind or non-attendance. In the event that the track day is cancelled by Aprilia Australia, a full refund will be issued. Riders with slick tyres will not be allowed out on track if the circuit is declared ‘wet’ by the clerk of course.
A second Aprilia Racer Days will be held at Sydney Motorsport Park on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, running under similar rules to Phillip Island. For more information, click here.
