Featuring Aprilia Dynamic Damping (aDD), ABS, cruise control, traction control, ride by wire and now available the Aprilia Multimedia Platform (aMP), the Caponord is certainly an advanced motorcycle.
Aprilia says it has taken innovation and technology to the next level with the development of the Aprilia Multimedia Platform (aMP). The aMP app is available through iTunes and when fitted to the bike establishes a wireless connection between the motorcycle and the aMP app transforming the rider’s iPhone or Android device into a virtual, real-time, multifunction on-board computer.
The aMP app together with the aMP platform allows the rider to choose between the following functions: speedometer, tacho, engine power and torque, instant and average fuel consumption, suggested gear selection, longitudinal acceleration along with an extended trip computer.
With the help of gyroscopes and vehicle telemetry, the app is also able to calculate the rider's lean angles. The aMP app will flash to indicate the intervention of traction control (aTC) and the rider can also set a shift light at their favourite revs. The aMP app will also store the journey data so that the rider can analyse their trip and their riding form.
Aprilia has pushed the technology even further to include notifications when the motorcycle is low on fuel while GPS technology allows the aMP to also identify the closest fuel stations and even the nearest Aprilia dealer. The aMP together with the GPS will record the last position of the motorcycle before the engine is turned off, which could be handy if it was stolen or if you forgot where you parked it.
The aMP platform is available as an accessory priced at $341. For more information go to: www.aprilia.com.au
