Apartments for motorcyclists

A purpose-built block in Tokyo to house your pride and joy – although you may have to share a bathroom with it
There are too many places in the world where space is at an absolute premium, but Tokyo is one of those – even bikes struggle to get a look in sometimes.
Here’s a rental apartment complex which attempts to deal with that issue in a very novel way by appealing straight to motorcycle enthusiasts.
There are eight units in the c-shaped design, which surrounds a central courtyard and has just the right amount of curvature on the walls to allow a motorcycle to be turned around – no turntable required. The curved walls also “contribute to give the impression of a more spacious environment”.
The garages are at ground level, often doubling as bathrooms, with stairs up to the living quarters above. All in all, it’s quite a cosy arrangement, although some of the digs appear to be larger than others.
Price? It’s not revealed, but considering that Tokyo still retains its status as one of the world's most expensive cities, it’s a fair bet that renting won’t be a steal – let alone buying one.
