Motorex KTM Off Road Racing’s Toby Price has extended his lead in the 2012 Australian Off-Road Championship at rounds seven and eight of the series, held at Broadford, Vic, over the weekend of May 19-20.
Price won the Saturday Cross Country event that constituted round seven, triumphing in the gruelling three-hour event by a winning margin of 8.246sec aboard his KTM 500 EXC. He continued that momentum on Sunday in the Sprint round, picking up his sixth consecutive round win of 2012.
“We had Cross Country on the Saturday and Sprints on Sunday, and we managed to come out on top both days,” Price explained. “I was able to extend the championship lead a little bit further and everything is going to plan with the Motorex KTM Off Road team. My 500 EXC is working awesome, so hopefully we are on track for more wins to get this championship back,” he added.
Team manager Brad Williscroft said it was a satisfying weekend for the team.
“It was another awesome result for the team and Toby continues to display his dominance in the big-bore class and Outright too,” Williscroft explained. “He rode really smart in the Cross Country, did what he had to do after getting into the lead early and setting a good pace," he added.
The Australian Off-Road Championship will continue for rounds nine and 10 at Conondale in Queensland over July 28-29, marking the penultimate weekend of the 2012 title chase.
