Ambitious 3-wheeler from France

Traffic-busting mini van part of the range

Trust the French to come up with an out-there version of the 3-wheeler. Scooter importer Sidam is promoting its variation on the theme, with the tilting pair of wheels at the rear instead of the front as on the MP3.

Three engine variants are proposed: a full-electric, a 200cc hybrid, and a 500cc, with the latter coming from Piaggio.

The company is toying with the idea of a leisure version, shown in yellow, plus a commercial van which could bring new meaning to the practice of lane-splitting.

Apparently the powerplant sits between the two rear swingarms, both of which house a belt drive for the wheels.

Handling could be 'entertaining', to say the least.

We're not sure where they're being built, but suspect it will be somewhere in Asia.

The company, perhaps optimistically, says it will launch late this year with prices starting around 8000 Euro or $12,900.
