If you're preparing to go on an overseas holiday, if you're not cartwheeling around the house at the moment then you've got way too much money.
That's because the Aussie dollar is soaring again! As I write this, it's at a 25-year high against the British Pound, as well as buying 80 US cents, 61 Euro and 80 Japanese Yen. Mind you, the tourism industry is aghast, but that's for another forum altogether.
Most of the recent surge has come after the Australian Bureau of Statistics last week announced the unemployment rate had actually fallen to 5.7 percent, which is a major sign the economy is making solid recovery after 18 months of financial turmoil.
In late February, the Aussie dollar was buying only 65 Yen, and had also fallen away sharply against the Euro and American dollar.
If these numbers continue to hold, it will release some built-up pressure on local importers, which have really been feeling the pinch since the Aussie dollar went into freefall.
Yesterday's surge won't make a difference to motorcycle retail prices in the foreseeable future, but nevertheless we felt it was a good time to update you on where motorcycle, scooter and ATV prices are at.
They are as follows, with some more still to come:
Benelli scooters
Ducati
Harley-Davidson
