
With the Aussie dollar having depreciated so much in the last six months, it's placed an enormous amount of pressure on local motorcycle importers.
For example, as I write this one Aussie dollar is buying around 65 Yen - in the early part of 2008 it was around the 100 mark. The Aussie dollar has also fallen away sharply against the American dollar and Euro.
Economics 101 tells us that there is have to be 'readjustment' to compensate for the depreciation -- unless certain manufacturers have hedging deals with their parent company or corporate HQ.
