KTM has revealed a fiercer version of its middleweight naked machine, with the new 990 Duke R set to arrive Down Under in April 2025.
Boasting more horsepower, racier ergonomics, and up-spec equipment, the new KTM 990 Duke R is designed to add a touch more flare over the base model.
The 990 Duke R adopts the new 8.88-inch TFT display which is complete with new software and features, as well as new switchgear and a new connectivity system.
Still powered by same LC8c motor, the Duke R manages to improve by roughly 7hp to 128hp, but maintains torque at 103Nm.
Weight is also unchanged at 190kg wet, but the seat height and ground clearance have been increased thanks to longer travel suspension, while the frame and swingarm have also been updated with a linkage system.
The WP APEX suspension now boasts an open cartridge fork with 143mm of travel, and it is 34 per cent stiffer for sportier riding. The rear shock has also been updated, however travel has been reduced by 10mm to compensate for the added linkage.
Brakes are handled by Brembo Stylema monobloc calipers and a Brembo MCS master cylinder, while larger discs (320mm front and rear) are built for added stopping power.
The bike is also fitted with Michelin Power Cup 2 tyres as well as rims adopted from the 1390 Super Duke R.
