Husqvarna has revealed an up-spec version of its Norden 901 adventure tourer, with the new version offering more off-road performance and new standard equipment.
Expected to arrive on Australian shores in May 2023, the Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition features long-travel WP Xplor suspension that puts it on par with its KTM 890 Adventure R counterpart.
The fully adjustable WP Xplor gear will provide 240mm of travel front and rear and allow fine-tuning of compression, rebound, and preload settings. This is in contrast to the original Norden 901’s WP Apex suspension, which offered 220mm (front) and 215mm (rear) of travel.
Also featured as standard on the Norden 901 Expedition is a range of Husqvarna Technical Accessories, including heated grips and seat, a new touring windshield, and a pre-fitted side bag set that offers 36L of storage capacity.
The base Norden 901 was released in 2022 as Husqvarna’s version of KTM’s popular 890 Adventure platform. While it didn’t match the off-road performance of the 890 Adventure R model, it was lauded for its style, finish, and premium equipment. It was a finalist in the 2022 bikesales Bike of the Year awards.
Powered by the proven 889cc parallel-twin engine that produces 105hp (77.2kW) and 100Nm, the Norden 901 platform is built on a chromoly steel trellis frame and a 21- and 18-inch wheel set.
The bike also come with a comprehensive electronics package that features four ride modes, cornering ABS and traction control, smartphone connectivity, and a TFT display.
Local pricing for the new Husqvarna Norden 901 Expedition is expected to be announced soon, with the bike set to be launched to media in the coming weeks.
