All-new 2026 Kawasaki Z650 S revealed for Europe

Fresh looks, ergonomics, and tech for Kawasaki's parallel-twin naked, but an Australian release has not yet been announced

Kawasaki has unleashed an aggressive new variant of its Z650 naked model, though it’s currently only slated for release in Europe.

The 2026 Kawasaki Z650 S brings fresh styling and sportier ergonomics while retaining the proven 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine from the standard Z650.

Repositioned footpegs, a new “fat-type” handlebar, and reshaped seats for both rider and pillion combine to create a more forward-leaning yet comfortable riding position. Bodywork has also been beefed up, including a new “aggressive” front cowl, while the bike gains a 4.3-inch TFT display.

Official power and torque figures are yet to be confirmed, but the current European-market Z650 produces 67hp and 64Nm. In Australia, the LAMS-approved Z650 variant makes 50hp and 57Nm.

The Z650 S comes equipped with a suite of electronics and safety features, including a new ABS unit from Continental, dual 300mm front brake discs, a 220mm rear disc, a slipper clutch, radiator fan, and O2 sensor—all housed within a lightweight trellis frame.

It remains unclear whether the new Z650 S will make its way to Australian showrooms.
