Indian Motorcycle is continuing its assault on Harley-Davidson, with the all-new Sport Chief model designed to raise the bar in terms of performance and style for American V-twin cruisers.
The Indian Sport Chief will check in locally at $32,995 ride away, which places it head-to-head with the Harley-Davidson Low Rider S. It will come in three colourways – Black Smoke, Ruby Smoke, and Stealth Grey.
Acting as a new variant in the popular Chief range, the new Indian Sport Chief features a KYB upside-down fork, Brembo brakes and piggyback rear Fox shocks, while it is powered by the air-cooled Thunderstroke 116 V-twin which puts out a claimed 163Nm at 2900rpm.
Rolling on a steel-tube frame, the Sport Chief also features a quarter fairing, moto-style handlebar with machine triple clamp, 6-inch risers, mid-mount foot controls, and a solo seat.
The bike also comes complete with Pirelli Night Dragon tyres, a 15.1L fuel tank, a bobbed rear fender, dual exhaust, LED lighting, keyless ignition, and three ride modes.
But perhaps the biggest selling point it has over its HD rival, is the 4-inch touchscreen display and Ride Command system which features Bluetooth smartphone connectivity.
As always, Indian is offering a wide range of performance, style, and comfort accessories that allow owners to customise and personalise their machine.
The 2023 Indian Sport Chief is expected to arrive on Australian shores from May 2023 onwards.
