AGPC boss gets the nod

Interim CEO Andrew Westacott has been sworn in as the official CEO of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) interim CEO, Andrew Westacott, has now officially been sworn in as the chief executive officer of the company that promotes the MotoGP and Formula One races in Australia.

Westacott replaces Drew Ward, who quit the post in August 2010, and is touted as a seasoned executive with a wealth of experience working on major events.

The AGPC released a press statement that reads: "The Chairman and the Board could not be more thrilled to have Andrew lead the Australian Grand Prix team in the coming years."

Andrew will have his hands full dealing initially with Dorna, which is adamant the 2012 Australian MotoGP should be pushed back earlier in the year from its current October date to March or April.
